Corrections, memories, photo rights enquiries and takedown requests — all welcome.
Please read first. This is an independent archive with no connection to Cafe Gitane. We cannot book a table, place an order, arrange an event, confirm opening hours, or forward a message to the restaurant or its owner. Messages of that kind will not reach anyone who can help.
What to write to us about
- Corrections. Dates, names, dishes, details we have wrong.
- Memories. If you were a regular or worked there, we would genuinely like to hear it, and with your permission we will publish it.
- Photographs. If you hold rights in an image on this site and want it credited differently or removed, tell us and we will act promptly.
- Takedown requests from the business or its representatives. We will comply.
- Advertising and press enquiries about this site.
Write to hello@gitanecafenyc.com. One person reads this, so a reply may take a few days. Please put the page name in the subject line if you are reporting a correction.
Reaching the cafes themselves
If you want to contact a Cafe Gitane location that is actually trading, go directly to them rather than through us:
- Brooklyn (Vinegar Hill) — 70 Hudson Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Walk-in only; reservations are not taken. See the Brooklyn page.
- Tokyo (Ebisu) — 1-16-11 Ebisu-Minami, Shibuya-ku. See the Tokyo page.
- Mott Street — closed since December 2025. There is no working contact for this location.
